Search Process

Understand the role and ideal candidate

We spend time with the hiring manager and full hiring chain to develop a detailed view of the job responsibilities, required background and personality. We require time with the client upfront in their environment to help us develop a good understanding of the position, company culture and internal and market dynamics.


We research your business, industry and competitors. We research marketplace dynamics, candidate pools, industry standards to consult with you in the best strategy for placement.

Identify, evaluate and present candidates

We know it is a dynamic process so we network, comb the Internet, access proprietary databases, and call into target companies to develop a pool of candidates. We review backgrounds and meet with the best candidates.

Manage candidate interview process

We drive the interview process. We work with the client to process candidate interviews at a pace convenient for the client. We set up interviews and then debrief candidates and the client. We manage the candidate pipeline with consistent and constant communication and feedback. We stay abreast of other opportunities the candidates may be considering and address potential issues that may arise promptly.

Check references and credentials

Reference checking is a foundation of our work. We conduct extensive interviews with 2-3 references of the top candidates. Detailed written reference evaluations and follow up conversations with references with clients are available upon request.

Choose the best candidate and develop a winning offer

We work with the client to select the top candidate and back up prospects. We ferret out a candidate's compensation requirements early in the process and provide current market data on base, bonus, equity and perquisites. We directly develop with the client an offer that works best with the client and candidate.

Close the candidate

We advise the client and can act as the "go between" to close the candidate. We narrow the gap of issues and work with the candidate to accept a mutually acceptable offer. We stay close to the candidate from the offer to start date so issues such as counter-offers, "buyer's remorse" or family-related matters are mitigated.

Follow up after the placement

Within a few months, we check in with the client and the candidate to assess the transition, the fit and potential issues. We stay in touch to ensure the candidate is successful in the role.
